A vintage kantha throw, shibori tie dyed to leave a pattern of red clusters on a deep indigo-black background.
A deep blue-black indigo background with layers of pattern: the shibori dyeing process has left beautiful rosettes of red & white circles that resemble exploding stars sometimes also revealing a floral pattern that covered one side of this kantha.
The same open rosettes on the reverse reveal an underlying checked pattern in apricot, purple & blue. A diamond pattern of kantha stitching adds a further dimension to this amazing piece of textile art.
