Shibori Indigo Kantha Throw, Floral Nebula

A spectacular vintage kantha throw that has been overprinted with a floral pattern & shibori tie dyed.

This tightly stitched vintage kantha has a fine metallic embroidered large open floral pattern on one side & a smaller printed floral pattern on the reverse. It has then been tie dyed in a series of nebula-like rings. 

Part of the attraction of vintage kanthas of this quality and age is that small areas of the outermost cotton have been worn away revealing the colours of inner layers - in the same way that artists sometimes scrape away outer layers of paint to reveal a previous layer.

Like all the Shibori Kanthas this is a unique piece, one only!
