A beautiful Indian bedspread with an Ajrakh print in soft indigo blue & red madder.

A beautiful bedspread with four concentric border patterns around a predominantly blue central field. For us this is almost the definitive Indian Bedspread with traditional patterns and vegetable dyes.

Ajrakh is one of the oldest techniques for printing fabrics in India. Wooden blocks are used to create the patterns in a complex process that uses natural dyes and involves many stages. This bedspread has been made with typical patterns using a more modern screen printing process.

The reverse side has lines of kantha stitching against an indigo cotton. Turn the reverse side over at the top for a pleasing effect.

Size: King size approx 225x260cm. In India this is called a double bedspread. It is suitable for double, king size and super king beds.
