Painting of a Snow Leopard Lying on Snow

A beautiful painting of a Snow Leopard lying on snowy rocks against a pale blue sky.

In this painting the snow leopard is lying on an icy outcrop of snow and ice against a blue sky with snow covered mountains in the background.

We bought this painting in Ladakh, northern India, one of the few places in the Himalaya where it is is still possible to see the elusive snow leopard.
Although we've never seen a snow leopard in the wild we have seen their footprints in the mud at the side of a stream in the mountains of Ladakh and seen their scat, red with rose hips, on a rock.

It is painted in the Indian miniature style. There is Urdu lettering at the top and bottom of the painting set against a gold background.
