Regular price
£30.00
The women are seated crossed legged with tall hats are playing drums and a shenhai.
Each one is different: the one on the left is playing a tabla drum with sticks, the central one is blowing a clarinet type instrument, possibly a shenhai, and the woman on the right is playing a damru style drum.
Dokra is one of the ancient metal casting crafts of India that dates back over 4000 years. A rough clay shape is covered in wax that is finely carved to create the final shape of the statue. This is then covered in clay with a drain duct for the wax to excape in the next stage when molten brass is poured into the mould.
