Kuba Cloth Wallhanging with Shells and Beads

A beautiful handwoven Kuba cloth wall hanging from Africa decorated with coral and cowrie shells.

The cloth, of a fine woven grass or palm leaf, is 6 separate panels sewn together, it is plyable and durable. The outer edges of the cloth are bound with a coarsely woven strip of dark brown material.

The whole cloth is decorated with geometric lines of coral beads interspersed with cowrie shells. As can be seen it also makes an unusual decorative bed runner.

Also shown is a white washed Opium Table. The wooden Mandalay bed designed by Silk Road director Peter Bennion is from the Natural Bed Company.
