Two delightful vintage belts from Rajasthan with embroidery, mirrorwork, buttons & shells.

Both these decorative belts have a predominant dark red colour: one is decorated with buttons and cowrie shells, the other with embroidery and shesha mirrors.

Shesah mirrors were created by blowing a glass sphere, coating the inside with molten zinc and then breaking the glass into small pieces. The small bubbles in the mirrors are typical of this process.

Lovely pieces of vintage Rajasthani embroidery.
