Meditating Hands, Jain Statue, Gwalior | Photo

The Muslim fort at Gwalior had a tolerant ruler in the 15^th century who encouraged the carving of huge Jain statues into the rock face leading up to the fort. This carving shows the meditating Tirthankir supported on a lion throne, with hands folded in the classic meditation posture.
