Carved Balconies & Corridor at the Dada Hari Vav | Stepwell Photos

Regular price £25.00

Looking past the carved balconies to the corridor of pillars at the Dada Hari stepwell.

There are five levels at the Dada Hari stepwell and an octagonal shaft that leads to a square pool. This photo looks over the carved octagonal balconies through a series of openings that lead over a series of platforms to the stairs which you can see at the far end.

At the bottom of the photo you can see spaces in the platforms that create an open feel to what is a very solid construction.

A quiet, well maintained and very beautiful well in Ahmedabad, five storeys deep and with unusual spiral staircases that lead to the bottom level. Built in 1499.

We have another photo of this beautiful well: see also Circular Balconies at the Dada Hari Vav.
