Lohargal Stepwell Interior | Stepwell Photo
A photo of the lower levels of the 7 storey Lohargal Stepwell in Shekawati.
This photograph shows the middle and lower floors of the lovely Chetan Das ki Bawri Stepwell at Lohargal, the pink sandstone water stained in dark grey dramatic stripes.
Lohargal is a small town on the edge of the Aravali hills in Rajasthan and we were shown to this well by Rajesh, the delightful owner of the Tourist Pension Guest House in nearby Nawalgarh, a highly recommended place to stay for a tour of the Shekawati region of Rajasthan. Rajesh is a wonderful guide and his wife prepares delicate Brahmin food. We ate in the courtyard next to a tree full of nesting weaver birds.
