Grey steps zig zag down three yellow painted sides of this popular stepwell at Amer, not far from Jaipur. It's a popular site for fashion shoots when the watchman turns a blind eye for a fee but when we were there in 2018 he wouldn't let us go down the steps. It's not far from the Anokhi Museum and the narrow lanes easily get congested with buses. The niches would be used for lamps and offerings at festival time.
