Regular price £25.00

Raniji ki Baori is one of the most beautiful stepwells in Rajasthan and is now protected by the Archeological Survey of India.

In 2017 the Raniji ki Baori was closed for restoration. A year later it had reopened and the work was almost complete except for two stone masons working with angle grinders which covered the interior with a thin cloud of dust.

Raniji ki Baori means the Queen's Stepwell. It was built in 1699; the design of the stonework capitals at the top of the column suggests a Jain patronage.

This image was stitched together from three photos taken on a full frame camera and can be printed up to 44" wide with no loss of detail.

I recently found this wonderful video of the Raniji ki Baori filmed in 1935 on the BFI site.

And you can watch our video of the Stepwells of Bundi here.

Available in two formats: Portrait and 'Square'. The width dimension of the 'Square' format is 10% larger than the height dimension.

Larger sizes are printed on heavier paper.
