Muney monastery

Muney monastery is on the path that leads from Padum towards Phuktal Monastery in the heart of Zanskar. The monastery is on a small rocky outcrop and the courtyard looks down over the road. The young monks were waiting for lunchtime prayers and passing the time before the older monk arrived.

When he arrived, the older monk was interested in our plans and conducted ritual blessings for our safe journey that involved praying to all the Buddha and Bodhisattva images in the monastery.
