This unique carved wooden statue is a turned wooden post with a central human figure.
This is tall shamanist item that would be placed outside a house, bridge or well to placate local spirits. The figure is male with bare feet and a smock.Indian Himalayan, Magar tribal work from Western Nepal, made from a dark wood worn smooth by the touch of many hands and the passage of time.
One forearm missing. Dark wood with a nice patina.
