A finely embroidered bokhani, groom's wedding sash, from Rajasthan.
A bokhani is worn over the shoulder like a sash on a groom's wedding day. This is a tradition than is found throughout Rajasthan, Gujarat and the Sind district of Pakistan. This old piece is on fine red cotton and is beautifully embroidered in multicoloured geometric satin stitch with additional shesha mirrors.
