A stunning silk ikat weaving from Indonesia with numerous figures in vibrant colours.
There are numerous colourful figures woven into this magnificent piece of ikat weaving. Elephants, horsemen, figures, maybe courtiers, holding spears or ceremonial maces and figures - possibly royalty - looking through windows in building.
The predominant colours are red on deep purple; other colours include gold, white and dark green. Collected in the 1980's.
