Indian Miniature Painting of a Lady & a Bird

A fine quality Indian miniature painting of lady sitting on a cushioned chair while holding a bird.

The setting is a pavilion and gardens; the lady is sitting outside on a golden seat with a small table by her side. A bird, possibly a parrot, is sitting on her arm. Mostly the colours are sepia with gold detail on the furniture and pavilion, green trees in the garden and fine red vases on the window frames.
The brushstrokes in this delightful painting are very fine.

The source of the painting was the Umaid Heritage Art School in Jodhpur which has a wonderful collection of Indian Miniature Paintings including many utterly superb pieces by the Director who teaches artists at all levels. You'll find the gallery in the old blue town near the Corn Market - totally recommended!
