A delightful Indian miniature painting from the Umaid Heritage Painting School. There are two peacocks on the ground with four female peahens; another peacock is displaying fully open tail feathers and a another female sits atop a wall.
There are flowering grasses in the foreground and three tall palm trees in the background.
The painting is surrounded by a printed border of plants set between two gold painted borders; the painting is on sepia paper.
The Umaid Heritage Art School in Jodhpur has a wonderful collection of Indian Miniature Paintings including many utterly superb pieces by the Director who teaches artists at all levels. You'll find the gallery in the old blue town near the Corn Market - totally recommended!
