Indian Miniature Painting of Two Purple Birds

A fine quality Indian miniature painting of two different purple birds sitting on branches of a tree.

Another Indian miniature painting from the Umaid Heritage Painting School. Two birds, both predominantly purple but of different species are sitting on branches of a tree, one seeming to be looking at the other, possibly a bee eater.

The birds are painted against a cream background surrounded by a gold border, in turn surrounded by a printed floral border with Urdu script below inside a final gold painted border on sepia paper.

The Umaid Heritage Art School in Jodhpur has a wonderful collection of Indian Miniature Paintings including many utterly superb pieces by the Director who teaches artists at all levels. You'll find the gallery in the old blue town near the Corn Market - totally recommended!
