Indian Painting of a Snow Leopard

A beautiful painting of a pair of a Snow Leopard sitting on a rock surrounded by snow.

We bought this painting in Ladakh, northern India, one of the few places in the Himalaya where it is is stil possible to see the beautiful snow leopard. Although we've never seen a snow leopard in the wild we have seen their footprints in the mud at the side of a stream in the mountain of Ladakh and seen their scat, red with rose hips, on a rock.

In this painting the snow leopard is looking out from a rocky outcropwith a backdrop of snow and ice.

Urdu lettering top and bottom of the painting is set against a gold background.
