A small Indian Phad painting of a heavily-caparisoned elephant marching forward, ridden by a man and woman.
Painted in white and gold on a black background, the man is carrying a goad to prod the elephant; the woman sitting behind him is comfortably supported by a large drum-shaped cushion.
A nice piece of Indian folk art from Rajasthan.
Presented in a bevelled mount and cardboard outer sleeve. The outer card mount is whiter than appears in the photo.
Dimensions: The outer mount size is 24.5cm square, the painting itself is 13cm square.
