Old Tibetan Carved Panel with Auspicious Symbols
A very old dark wooden panel carved with four auspicious Buddhist symbols.
The symbols - the eternal knot, the conch shell, the vase of ambrosia and the victory banner - represent Interconnectedness and the Law of Karma, the sound of the Dharma reaching out to beings, the inexhaustible treasure of the Dharma and Buddha's triumph over worldly concerns.
The last photo is of a similar new panel on a shop front in the town of Patan in the Kathmandu valley.
