Old Painted Tibetan Chest with Hinged Lid

A superb old red chest from Tibet decoratively painted & with elaborated metal fastenings.

Floral and looping designs decorate the front of this old Tibetan chest. Elaborate perforated metal bracket fastenings are both decorative and part of the construction.

The hinged lid opens to reveal a dark wooden interior. The top face of the lid is a similar aged dark wood. Curious small leather bands reinforce the corner construction.
