This musician was playing at the sun set over the holy lake at Pushkar.

We don't take many portrait photographs, only usually when the subject wants the photo to be taken or when we know the people well.

Pushkar lake is holy to Hindus and a place of pilgrimage that attracts Indians and Westerners who wait by the lakeside for the sun to set to the beat of drums and sounds of music. Rajasthani musicians arrive on the scene and add to to the atmosphere with their vigorous but strangely melancholic fiddle playing.
