Avalokiteshvara Buddha Statue, Oxidised Copper

A small, very fine quality Avalokiteshvara statue made from oxidised copper, height 6.5cm.

A beautifully made copper bronze colour statue of Avalokiteshvara. Excellent detail; the face, hand & details on the robe are especially finely worked. 

Avalokiteshvara is the hugely popular Bodhisattva of Compassion. He sits cross legged on a lotus throne; he has four arms, the outer arms hold a lotus and a mala, 108 Buddhist prayer beads; the inner arms hold the Cintamani, the wish fulfilling jewel of liberation or enlightenment.

Tibetans regard the Dalai Lama as an emanation of Avalokiteshvara.

These new precision made oxidised copper Buddha statues have exceptional detail and superbly fine facial features.
