A fine quality oxidised copper statue of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion.
Avalokiteshvara, he who looks down on the suffering of the world, is known to the Tibetan as Chenresig. In one hand Avalokiteshvara holds a mala, prayer beads, in another a lotus; his two inner hands the Chintamani, the wish fulfilling gem that leads to loberation. This is a excellent, detailed statue; the face, hand & details on the robe are especially fine.
