Black & White Tibetan Malas, Prayer Beads

Black & white glazed ceramic Tibetan Buddhist prayer beads (malas), striped or dzi pattern.

Two styles of Tibetan malas with 108 black & white prayer beads.

One style has black beads with a white stripe & (imitation) turquoise & coral beads with white metal spaces a red cord & tassels. Length 68cm.
The other style has black beads with a white pattern that approximates to elements of genuine dzi stone pattern. This style has two counters & terracotta tassels. Genuine dzi beads are agate stones with a mysterious pattern highly regarded in Tibetan Buddhist culture; they are worn as protective amulets. Length 88cm.
