An unusual large painted Tibetan wooden container used to store rolled up thangka paintings.
Completely covered with colourful paintings and including a large painting of the Buddha Ratnasambhava shown with a mongoose vomiting up sacred jewels which could be seen as the thangkas that would be stored inside.
The wooden lid is painted with a representation of the dharma wheel and a vajra, the symbol of inexhaustible wisdom energy.
