Amitabha Stupa and Mt Kailash | Photos of Tibet

The pilgrimage around Mt Kailash begins at the Amitabha stupa at the western corner of the mountain.

Mt Kailash is partly obscured by clouds behind the stupa.
Amitabha is the Red Buddha, the Buddha of the Western sky, and the beginning of the pilgrimage  around Mt Kailash begins in the western corner of the mountain.
The stupa is a gateway stupa, to begin the pilgrimage you climb or under the prayer flags and walk through the stupa.
