Indian Miniature Painting of a Lady & Deer

A fine quality Indian miniature painting of lady playing with deer among trees in a sepia landscape.

The brushstrokes in this delightful painting are very fine. A lady is walking among white flowering trees in the company of three small deer; she is holding our a leafy branch to them. Small water birds are swimming in a stream in the foreground.

Apart from small patterns of colour and gold detail on her sari and a gold frame border, the colours are shades of the fawn colour of the deer. Delightful.
