Lohargal Stepwell Arches, Black & White, Landscape | Stepwell Photos

A photo of the inner arches at the Chetan Das ki Bawri Stepwell at Lohargal. 

This seven-storey stepwell tucked away at the foot of the Aravali hills on the edge of Shekawati in Rajasthan is one of our favourites. The stonework hasn't been cleaned for years and the dark stains down the masonry give it a pleasant neglected atmosphere.

This landscape format photo is of the middle arches with a view through to the steps that lead down from the ground level. Our Ladakhi friend Tsering Dolma can be seen through the arches checking the photos on her phone.
