Padmasambhava Buddha Statue, Oxidised Copper
A small, very fine quality Padmasambhava statue made in oxidised copper.
A beautifully made copper bronze coloured statue of Padmasambhava. It has excellent detail; the face, hand & details on the robe are especially fine.
Padmasambhava is regarded by many Tibetan Buddhists as the second Buddha.
He is a historical figure who helped Trisong Detsen, the King of Tibet, establish Buddhism in Tibet in the 8th century. He is also a powerful figure of myth and legend with the power to change hatred into compassion. He is the Buddha for difficult times, he is the Buddha for now.
He sits with right leg extended into the world; in his left hand he holds a skull cup in his lap and in his right hand he holds a vajra, an indestructible diamond thunderbolt that pierces through wrong views about reality. He holds a staff or khatvanga in the crook of his left arm. He wears elaborate robes signifying his enlightened attainments.
These new precision made oxidised copper Buddha statues have exceptional detail and superbly fine facial features.
