This self published book is an account of three days in Rajasthan in 2018 searching for stepwells in villages along back roads between Delhi and Bundi. This second addition includes two additional stepwells visited in 2023.

About 25 years ago I saw a photo in a Sunday magazine  of an extraordinary underground building - a stepwell built over a thousand years ago in the search for water in the dry semi desert of Rajasthan & Gujarat. In the last few years I've photographed over a hundred stepwells and you can see some in the Photographs Collection.
