Photo of a dream catcher sculpture in the streets of Gyantse, Tibet.
Dream catchers like this, sometimes called spirit catchers, are found all over the Himalaya but this one in the the old town of Gyantse is a beauty.
Dream catchers predate Buddhism and originate in the old animist Bon tradition. Along with the sticks, threads and bone shards is the skull of a goat at the front of the spirit catcher.
Gyantse is a charming town that is changing slowly compared to most other towns in Tibet which are now being developed into modern Chinese cities.
